THE HUNGER GAMES ON STAGE

06 October 2026

Before the trip, I was excited to see one of my favourite books turned into a spectacular play although I wasn’t sure it would adapt well. I will admit, I was a little bit nervous that it wasn’t going to work, but luckily, the odds were in our favour! We were going on this trip to learn more about the dystopian genre and our topic this term of ‘Broken World’ - exploring nonfiction texts, rhetoric and modern protest movements, followed by an exploration of dystopian fiction and creative writing after half-term.

Our journey was amazing. There were no delays and the transitions went quickly and smoothly. Lunch was sandwiches from the kitchen staff, with fruit, juice and popcorn. It was DELICIOUS! Some thought that it wasn’t enough, so they went to M&S to grab some sweets and savoury items. Everything went well and we stayed in the park in the sunshine for around one hour. The hour flew by as we were having so much fun with our friends.

The play itself was amazing. The actors were really into their roles, and all the movement and staging were extraordinary. Me and my friends laughed, danced and even slightly cried together whilst watching. It was a valuable memory for us all, and we will remember this forever.

The trip helped us to understand a dystopian world that watched and enjoyed children viciously murder each other. It was a fabulous trip and I would love this to become a tradition for all the years to come.
