Woking's Only Independent Senior School
For children already with us in Pre-Prep or Prep, joining the Senior School feels like a natural and exciting step in their journey through our school, where the same outstanding teaching, care and ethos continue in a purpose-built, modern environment.
We also warmly welcome external pupils. New faces bring fresh energy, new friendships and wonderful opportunities to grow together.
As pupils move into the Senior School years, they naturally take on more responsibility. We give them the chance to become role models, leaders and mentors, skills that prepare them beautifully for life beyond Hoe Bridge.
At the heart of Hoe Bridge Senior School is a simple aim: to help every child become the very best version of themselves as they prepare for GCSEs and the adventures that lie ahead.
Our Senior School has been thoughtfully designed with state-of-the-art facilities that support a broad, balanced and forward-thinking curriculum. Purpose-built science laboratories and technology spaces give your child the chance to develop hands-on skills, spark curiosity and build confidence across STEM subjects, preparing them for further study and future careers in an increasingly technological world.
Year 9 marks an important stage in the options process as pupils and families begin to move from initial exploration to more informed decision-making about the subjects that will shape study in Years 10 and 11, leading to GCSE examinations at the end of Year 11.
At Hoe Bridge, your child’s wellbeing is our top priority. We believe that children learn best when they feel happy and supported, and as they enter their teenage years, when new challenges naturally arise, we make sure they have the emotional guidance and care they need to thrive.
As part of our commitment to developing well-rounded, thoughtful learners, all Year 9 pupils will have a dedicated thirty-minute Critical Thinking lesson each week.
There will also be a dedicated slot in the Senior timetable for reading for pleasure, which is a powerful way to boost wellbeing and academic success.
