Our U11 Girls 'Storm' The Road to the Copperbox Tournament

Published on 24 January 2018

Our U11 ‘a’ netball team travelled to Kent University recently to participate in a regional netball tournament run by Surrey Storm.  The aim was to qualify to play in a further tournament at the Copperbox in London where Surrey Storm and Loughborough Lightning will compete in June.

The girls pulled out all the stops and played with the determination and skill displaying some outstanding netball in both attack and defence. In their group games, they beat St Lawrence College 25 - 1, West Lodge Prep School 26 - 2 and Kennington Juniors 22 - 1.  They then went on to the semi final where they beat King’s Rochester 16 - 6 and then finished it off in style by beating Granville School 10 - 5 in the final. Scoring 99 goals and conceding only 15 throughout the day the girls certainly 'stormed' The Road to the Copperbox!.  The girls were presented with a Copperbox trophy by Surrey Storm and now look forward to their next exciting tournament in London in June. Well done to them all!
