The Alpine Club Opens The Doors to Hoe Bridge

What a treat for our Year 8! Recently they were fortunate enough to be invited to visit The Alpine Club in London. The Club was founded in 1857 and is the world's first mountaineering club. It is UK mountaineering's acknowledged 'senior club'. 

This visit made Hoe Bridge the first ever school to be allowed through the doors!. They were shown around the Club by the Hon. Librarian and Hon. Archivist and were given the chance to see some amazing books, maps and climbing equipment. During the visit, both Dylan and Faress were lucky enough to win prizes and perhaps we will have encouraged some Messners of the future...
