Surrey Champions!

Published on 29 November 2016

Last weekend, the 1st XI played in the final of the Surrey Prep Schools Football Cup. It’s only the second time Hoe Bridge has ever reached the U13 final.

This term has been quite a special one…..

1. The team has won every match they played
2. They beat Shrewsbury House, Rokeby and Danes Hill in the Cup
3. They scored 100 goals over the term with the Barnes brothers scoring 79 between them

In the final on Saturday they played Danes Hill who are a strong school which ever sport you are playing! Hoe Bridge took the lead after 12 minutes and from then on controlled the game. Danes Hill did have some chances but were unable to break through a strong back four. The boys could have scored a couple more during the course of the match, but held on to their lead right to the end to win and be crowned Surrey Champions.

It should be noted that some of these boys also won the U11 Surrey Cup Final two years ago….. double County Champions!

This has been a superb term of football for this team probably the most successful 1st XI in the schools’ history….. they should be very pleased with themselves.
