Pastoral and Welfare

The care, welfare and happiness of each child is the prime concern of every member of staff. The school has two matrons and other members of staff are first aid trained.

At lunch times staff sit with the children to encourage good manners and to ensure they enjoy a balanced meal. An emphasis is placed on good, fresh food, cooked on site by our own chef with provision made for special diets.  There is a wide choice of both hot and cold food each day with homemade pudding, fruit and yoghurt for dessert. Mid-morning break is a drink and either home-made biscuits, filled rolls or fruit and for Prep children an afternoon drink and snack is provided. The cost of lunches is included in the fees.

Parents and members of staff work together on the Social Committee to organise a full social calendar creating the very close links that we are proud of at Hoe Bridge. Various events culminate in the annual school Ball.

Funds raised support many charities and provide enhanced facilities and equipment for the children. In the Pre-Prep class representatives form the Parents’ Circle, and organise specific events for the younger children and their parents.
