The group is usually made up of both family groups and unaccompanied children and it is always great fun. Many resorts have been visited in the past few years, including Passo Tonale, Claviere, Prato Nevoso and Le Corbier.
Year 7 French Trip
Every year during the Summer term, Year 7 spend a lively fun-packed week in the Seine Maritime area of Normandy. Based in beautiful surroundings at either Château de la Guerche, Caudebec-en-Caux or at Domaine des Hellandes, Angerville l’Orcher the boys have many opportunities to speak French in a real context - buying stamps and cakes, using the phone, interviewing people and, most popular of all, buying their picnic lunch at a local market. An enjoyable programme of visits to Étretat, Rouen, Bayeux, Arromanches and Pegasus Bridge, as well as a day in Paris increases the boys’ knowledge and understanding of the historical links between Britain and France. In the evening time is allocated to writing an account of the day’s experiences, followed by entertainments such as a disco, loto and a talent show.
Although it is a busy and exhausting week, the benefits are enormous, linguistically, culturally and socially. It’s a week to have a great time and learn a lot!
Leavers Trip
Boys
Each summer, the leavers in Year 8 spend a week under canvas at an Outdoor Activity centre near Southampton. During the week, they are given the opportunity to experience many different activities, including raft building, canoeing, climbing and abseiling. It is always a fantastic week and the children look forward to it every year.
Girls
Towards the end of the summer term, the girl leavers in Year 6 visit the Isle of Wight and take part in an adventure week at an activity centre. It is a fun packed week, in which they do many activities, including climbing, abseiling and canoeing. This too is a great week, much enjoyed by the girls.
